Will a clean roof last longer?
Yes!!! Biological attack from algae can cause damage to your shingles and shorten the life of your asphalt roof. Blue-green algae (a form of cyanobacteria) take root on the surface of your shingles, helping to dislodge the protective granules. Surface temperatures are also increased because of the dark stains, increasing your home cooling costs by as much as several hundred dollars per year. Its growth holds water on the roof's surface which intensifies the sun? ultra violet rays like a magnifying glass. The increased moisture and UV rays work to further dislodge the protective granules and attack the shingle's protective asphalt coating. Moisture, UV rays, and thermal movement from temperature extremes are your roof's greatest enemies. All three are intensified by algae growth. It can suck the life from your asphalt roof leading to earlier than necessary roof replacement.
What is growing on my roof?

What chemicals do you use to clean my roof?
We use a proprietary mix based on sodium hypochlorite with added cleaning agents. Because many "competitors" lack our roof cleaning equipment, knowledge, training, and experience, they sometimes apply a dangerously strong chemical solution. Sodium hydroxide (lye) and potassium hydroxide will dissolve the asphalt and tar on your roof, shortening the life of your shingles and voiding the roof's warranty. Even sodium metasilicate is too corrosive. Oxygen bleach (sodium percarbonate, like OxiClean) lacks the necessary cleaning power, allowing roof algae to quickly regrow. How do you protect our plants, pets, and landscaping?
We only spray the roof, not your plants. We always bag the ends of your downspouts, collect all the chemical run-off from the roof and dispose of them away from your landscaping. If the roof does not have gutters we will thoroughly dilute the roof cleaning chemical down to safe levels by spraying the landscaping with water before, during, and after applying chemical. After the chemical biodegrades and evaporates from the roof, the dried crystals and surfactant act as a roof treatment to keep the roof cleaner longer.
