# THE SCIENCE OF ROOF STAINS #

How might the cost of not having this product actually cause you to choose to believe that you cannot afford to buy it? Let's break down what's happening on your roof:

You're living in a wild environment that consists of land, weather, plants and animals, with normal, natural stimuli. Maybe you've noticed it -- a few streaks down a neighbor's roof. The streaks seem to have a mind of their own, as you watch them growing and migrating across your entire neighborhood. Now your roof is infected, and you can see some ugly organism slowly digesting your home from on high.

Your roof isn't dead, it's just overwhelmed with the stress of Virginia's hot and humid climate. Modern shingle roofs ring the dinner bell for microorganisms. The limestone additives are delicious organic food for the bacteria Gloeocapsa Magma, which stains your roof black. Every year, you can watch your roof get worse and worse, or you can call The Roof Resurrectors today.

Our chemicals do all of the work to remove streaks and discoloration from your roof and require no pressure or heavy rinsing. Because we do not have to rinse, your roof will stay cleaner longer. Leaving the chemicals on the roof creates a roof treatment or a hostile environment for future algae growth. Each time it rains, a small amount of chemical is washed off to help re-clean your roof over and over again.

The rain actually does a better job of rinsing than if we tried to rinse it for you because rain is slightly acidic with of pH of 5.6. Sodium hypocholorite-based solutions like ours clean optimally at a basic pH of 11 (Fukuzaki et al. 2007). The rain neutralizes the chemicals better than a rinse with city water (pH around 8), and your roof is left with a much longer lasting cleaning.
